VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

The Town of Volney History Center is asking volunteers to sign up for the annual National Historic Marker Challenge.
We will be hosting it on Saturday, June 14th (Flag Day) at 10:00 a.m.
We will meet at the Town of Volney Town Hall parking lot for a brief orientation on proper techniques of cleaning roadside markers and headstones. We’ll then set out to some of the local cemeteries and all seven locations of the roadside markers. Depending on the amount of volunteers, the entire project should take about two hours of time to complete. All cleaning materials will be provided by the Town’s History Center. This event is typically held the last weekend in April but due to our heavy (and late) winter season, we found it necessary to move ours to June.
You are invited to sign up by calling 315-593-8288 ext 105 or emailing Town Historian, Bob Coant at [email protected]. Please try and sign up on or before June 10, 2025.
Many thanks, in advance. This kind of project could never be accomplished without your willingness to
help out.
